Our mission at James Monroe Elementary school is promote academic, emotional, social, and behavioral accountability among students with the support of teachers, staff, parents, and community members in order to meet the highest academic expectations within a nurturing learning community. To achieve this mission, we have set the following goals:
- Develop a strong school community awareness of standards
- Ensure that all students have every opportunity to meet the standards
- Align instruction, assessment, intervention, and enrichment to standards
- Maintain a positive learning environment that support the whole child
- Promote strong communication between home and school
Students, staff, parents, and community members are involved in a collaborative decision making process at all levels. The close knit partnership is committed to creating a safe and challenging learning atmosphere. Community members and parents, both individually and in advisory groups, provide enthusiastic support, generous donations and academic involvement that add to the outstanding quality of school life at Monroe.
At Monroe Elementary School, there exists an extraordinary enthusiasm and willingness to analyze, plan together and strategize to provide a comprehensive school program of the highest quality. Our school is the collaborative product of what can be accomplished when a dedicated school community works together through a shared vision, clear mission, and a well-defined program improvement plan with the purpose of raising student achievement to the highest possible level and closing the achievement gap among are different student population groups.
