After School Options

Bermuda Dunes Learning Center

Before and After School Care - This off site program located across the street from James Monroe is available before school and after school for grades TK-5th. This afternoon enrichment program includes arts, crafts, music and cooking activities. Staff will walk the students over in the morning and pick up the students after school and walk them back over to their facility.

Camp Monroe

After the school is done, campers will enjoy active games, special activities and a variety of sports - indoor and outdoors, each guided by trained, professional staff with one common goal:  Enriching the lives of children, through fun Activity with Direction.  In addition to playing active games each day, time is reserved to work on homework and AR Reading and free play.

Camp Monroe was created by Heather & Adam Hibbeler who operate nationally acredited Day Camp and Sierra Sleep-Away programs.  

Enrollment Options:

Camp Monroe Choose Days: 5-days, 4-days or 3-days per week (Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri: 2:20 - 5:30 PM; Thurs 12:35 – 5:30 pm)

OR

Camp Monroe 1-day option for minimum day: THURSDAYS ONLY (2-hours: 12:35 - 2:35 PM)

Desert Recreation

Come join the fun every day after school! Traditional after school programs provide a safe, fun and social environment at the school site for students following the completion of the school day. Students spend the afternoon doing homework, physical activities, art projects, and playing games. A healthy snack is provided daily and students are supervised by our trained, professional staff.

Kiddos Lingua

Using communicative and experiential approaches, this program teaches Spanish to students in TK - 5th grade.  Children will learn through games, songs, outdoor play, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, dances, and performances.  Interactive projects will be implemented to enhance their conversations, grammar, listening, writing and reading skills.  The classs is taught by bilingual teachers who hold master's degrees in Spanish. 

Space is limited to 30 elementary school children, including homeschooled students.  Monroe students and families have priority enrollment.  First come, first served.  

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:20pm to 5:30pm.  Thursdays from 12:35pm - 5:30pm.  Classes are held in room 802.
